The company plans to support three strategic variants of UNIX including Sun Solaris^TM, Linux and Apple Macintosh OS X^®. Centrinity plans to begin shipping its first UNIX version of FirstClass by the end of 2001. According to a 2001 industry report from market research firm, Gartner, Unix has become the de facto standard for building large-scale application servers such as Internet services, enterprise-messaging systems, database management systems and transaction processing systems.
